Big Eyed Lens vs Black Eyed Kid...

It's time to camwhore... I mean it's time to ask for opinions... Wahaha...

Recently I learned from 女人我最大 about these 'Big Eye Lens' called Acuvue Define® Dailies which is suppose to be very good. What is the difference between this coloured lens as compared to others you ask? The main advantage (if I am not wrong) of this lens is that the colour is trapped between the lens instead of printed on the underside of the lens like normal coloured lenses. My optician kindly sent me samples to try as there are 2 colours. Black and Brown. They are really expensive too. A box of 15 lens will set you back $61.40. And it being a daily lens, you have to change it everyday so it will be $122.80 per month. That compared to Freshkon which is $23 per month. Almost $100 difference!! Think of what you can buy with that money!!

After trying it out, I agree that it is quite comfortable. The brown colour is ok too. Have yet to try the black. I have tried FreshKon before and it is quite ok too but this is definitely more comfy. Question is, do I look weird in them?

People say that Big Eyed Lens makes a person looks less fierce. Do you think it makes me look kinder? A better person?

Or does it make me look like the legendary Black Eyed Kids? You know I already look scary as it is...

I am a Cannibal...

This post is not for the squeamish...

Many a time, in the quest for beauty, we (and by that I mean me) would go to great lengths from the tried and tested to the downright weird to achieve what we want. This is one of them.

Most of you would know that my sister in law recently gave birth. She had requested that I helped her cook her placenta so that she(we) can consume it. Placentas - be it sheep placenta or human placenta - has long been used to enhance beauty. It's true. Other than sheep placentas, human placentas is also used in many beauty products.

Actual pic of raw placenta has been pixelated preserve your sanity... and your breakfast... Email me if you really have to see the real thing.

The procedure is quite simple. First of all we removed the attached umbilical chord and membrane of the placenta. Next we add ginger and lemongrass into some boiling water and put the placenta in a bowl on top of it. Steam the placenta until cooked. You will know it is cooked when no blood flows out when you poke it. It actually took longer than we expected. After that, cut it into thin pieces and bake it in the oven using the lowest temperature available. We used 100ºC for 3-4 hours. Lastly pound it and put it into the capsules.

So yes, we capped it and ate it... No real improvement in terms of skin complexion and such yet but I can now shout out from the top of the mountain... "I have eaten... Human..."

Talika Eyelash Serum - A Final Verdict

My apologies for the long overdue verdict on the Talika Eyelash Serum. After using it for a loooooooooong time... I can only say that for SG$60 per tube, it is quite expensive for the result it offers.

Yes my eyelash did grow a bit longer but not to a great extend. Also, the resulting length is not due to any growth properties of the serum itself.

The main effect of the eyelash serum is making your natural lashes stronger so it will not drop as fast. According to studies (that I read somewhere on the net), the lifespan of eyelashes is 22 days. After which they will drop off and new eyelashes will grow. For the most of us, our eyelash will fall out faster due to rubbing, wearing contact lens etc so the full potential growth of our eyelashes is not achieved. This serum reduce the chances of breakage and the falling of our eyelashes so the maximum length is achieved.

In other words, the final result one achieves while using this serum is cap at the maximum length each individual's eyelash can naturally grow and not the result of the serum making it longer. If you are looking for Barbie/Anime lashes, stick to fake eyelashes.
