Backlog...Every Christmas, the boss at the company I am currently working in will treated employees to a nice meal. For 2008, it is a lunch buffet at Sheraton Hotel. It cost S$55++ per person but the food was not really as good as expected.
The buffet consist of the usual salad and cold dishes, bread and soup, sashimi, pasta, roasted meats, hot dishes like rice etc and last but not least desserts. We went with the traditional cold dishes and appetizers and slowly worked our way to dessert. The salad and stuff was good but the sashimi gave us quite a work out. Each time we went for sashimi, the chef would give us 3 pics of each type of fish we wanted. So we had to go back again and again if we wanted more. After the second time, I gave up as I became bored with making the journey to and from my chair to the sashimi counter (yes... yes... I am lazy...).
After finishing the soup which was ok, I went for the roasted meats (I skipped the chicken and went for the lamb) next but I was fooled by it looks as the meat was not tender and was quite hard to chew.
Den it was assorted hot dishes, some rice, vege etc and finally to my favourite which is dessert to finish it all. All the desserts I tried was nice except for something that I thot was a fruit cake. It was horrible. It was very dry had an industrial chemical taste.
As usual, I forgot to take photos... Sigh...

The play is played in 2 locations and I am situated at the Highpoint Halfway house. It is a place that helps ex convicts get back on the right track after they are released.
On Friday the 13th this month, my friend Ms U ask me to go to the Singapore Arts Museum with her to view an exhibition by some Korean artist titled KoreanArt. Apparently these Korean artist are quite prominent and their pieces may have quite high value that the higher management of a certain auction house even flew to Singapore to see the exhibition.
After viewing I would say that the exhibition is indeed very good (my only complain is the the museum is freezing!! Maybe they need to maintain the paintings thats why the low temperature?? No??). I wouldn't say I agree with all of them. Some of them have a concept but some of them are based on painstaking skills. The two of them that I really like is...

No prize for guessing who my date for the evening is. We had dinner at the Kopitiam beside Hotel Rendezvous and all I can say is... Give the dim sum a miss next time you are there.
On Saturday, we went to Downtown East as planned. To beat the crowds (and grab the limited parking lots) we went really early at about 10.30am. Immediately after reaching Downtown East, we went to collect the goodie bags for the event. It was a reusable bag (everyone is giving away one of those these days) with a mat inside. A mat that we can use then or for future picnics. There are 3 colours to choose from. Red, Green and Blue. I chose green of course.
They have an umbrella dispenser. Cool!! We need this in town. Super double cheese takoyaki. Free cotton candy.
