Music on the blog

For no reason today I decided that I wanted to have music on my blog on the sidebar. Hence I went about figuring out how to do it (from 11pm to 3.30am). I thought they would have a ready gadget to add automatically but I was wrong. After trying out a few ready playlist, I decided that I want just one song and a small player.

First I went to blogger help which brought me to a site but the tutorial doesn't work. After searching on the net for a while, I found a site telling me how to do it but after trying out, it doesn't work as well so it was back to searching the web again which brought me to tips-for-new-bloggers. Every blogger should bookmark this site as it is very good and teaches a lot of thing especially it give the html code which is mostly gibberish to us clueless people. Then with their tips, I went searching for some free hosting sites for my songs. I thought that's the end but I found out that it was really not as easy as I thought and I had to join a few free hosting sites (Rapidshare, FileFactory, Boxnet to name a few) to determine from which site my music will show up. Finally I settled on FileAve.com.

Anyone is interested to add music to their blog and are lazy to go check out the sites should:-

Go to CUSTOMIZE
Choose ADD A GADGET > HTML/WIDGET
In the text box add {embed autostart = "false" height="40" loop="true" playcount="2" src="URL of music file" width="300" / > < / embed}
SAVE
Change the above {} into <> and remove all spacing from code.

The Tips site advised that it is better not to have the music auto start since some people might be reading from their office. But for a start I still put is as auto start. Please let me your comment to let me know which is better. Thanks!!

PS: I will be late for work again tomorrow and I did not do my freelance because I was so bent on learning how to do it!!!

You can signup with Imeem.com
Then next time you just need to go to imeem and update your songs on the playlist. I'm using that too.
